Not many would believe that our story began from a humble leather briefcase which became the foundation of all our design ideas. This handcrafted masterpiece, was a constant companion for our founder on his travels and over night stays. 

Many well known brands adopt the best of the best full-grain leather as a base material to carefully create there products, this briefcase was no exception but was also complimented with a unique design interior which gave it a pop of colour. 

After many years of faithful service, an unexpected twist of fate unfolded when the briefcase was accidentally left behind, in an era before tracking tags existed the briefcase was never seen again. 

The search for a replacement proved ineffective. There was nothing in the market that matched the original briefcase’s quality, functionality, and distinctive cotton lining design.

Driven by frustration, the idea of creating a unique range of leather goods was borne. Many sleepless nights were spent sketching designs, trialling different hardware materials, zippers and threads, matching them with 100’s of leather samples sourced from world renowned tanneries, we travelled the world meeting with artisans from different regions who could help us bring our creations to life. This dedication led to the design and creation of a range of functional, stylish, and premium quality leather goods that embodied the essence of Funkin Class Leather Co.
